Pub and Restaurant
Welcome to The
Wheelbarrow Castle which is now back in the capable hands of the Fernihough family after a lapse of some 45 years. Grandfather Alf ran the pub for 60 years from 1906 to 1966 and now new owners Martin and Marilyn Fernihough have taken the reins and started by refurbishing the Wheelbarrow Castle to a very high standard. New decor and comfortable furniture now adorn the inside, a new main entrance and complete garden makeover so you can enjoy the outside and the introduction of a fantastic new menu which includes choices such as an all day breakfast to a carvery or even a clotted cream tea - just some of the changes which we know you'll enjoy when you visit us !

From the large rear carpark, a new sweeping path with handrail (and no steps) leads you to the main entrance, now relocated by the pond. Oak beams, stripped wooden flooring and exposed brickwork welcome you and provide that much loved "Olde Worlde Charm". You can relax in the new sofa's that surround the wood burning fire, play pool in the adjoining games area which also includes a dart board or meet friends for a chin wag in the large bar area.
